T-Rex Walk Cycle:

Description:

For this Intro to Animation class project I used a pre-rigged t-rex character in Maya to create a basic walk cycle to practice making realistic character movements based on the techniques we learned this semester. This project was my first opportunity to work on creating 3D character animations.

Lego Stop Motion Project #1:

Description:

A Lego stop motion project involving two criminals that break out of jail, and attempt to escape from the cops chasing after them. The two criminals journey back to where they hid their stash of stolen treasure, and have several encounters along the way including Stormtroopers and Minecraft zombies. Will the cops ever catch these criminals to put them back behind bars?

Newton's Cradle Ball Bounce:

Description:

This project for Intro to Animation focused on lip sync drawing techniques to make realistic lip movements to match an audio clip of our choice. Arnold is off to the side looking cool while the sneaky punk kid tries to steal a cookie without him noticing, but Arnold catches the kid red handed. Perhaps one of the tougher animation projects I did for this class considering my lack of experience drawing believable characters, much less creating animation with them. Arnold's head turn animation was a bit of a personal challenge, but pretty pleased with how everything turned out. I was especially pleased with how Arnold himself turned out, I was worried people might not know who that character was supposed to be.

Description:

A short animation giving personality to the metallic balls that hang from a Newton's Cradle. My desk workspace inspired this animation created for my Intro to Animation class requiring a ball bounce animation, so that we could explore 2D drawing techniques to simulate physics such as slow in and slow out.

Flour Sack Animation:

Description:

Another animation project for my Intro to Animation class created to teach us more animation techniques such as weight and balance to help develop realistic character movements. Animation involves two flour sacks happily picking / harvesting apples, and uses our new animation techniques to help give personality to the characters. Was my first time digitally drawing each frame of animation manually by hand using a drawing tablet.
